While most celebrities wait for this honour, the evergreen Rekha put her pretty foot down when she heard that she was to be given a lifetime achievement award.The Government of Maharashtra wished to honour the lady with a lifetime achievement award titled Raj Kapoor Smriti Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar. However, when Rekha heard about this, she called the concerned officials and got the title of the award changed to Pratibha Gaurav Puraskar.
She said that a lifetime achievement award is given to a person who has completed all the work in his career, while she still has a lot of work to do!
The award ceremony will be held in Pune on May 30, and will be graced by the Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and the Deputy Chief Minister, Chhagan Bhujbal.
Incidentally, Aamir Khan, one of people Rekha loves to hate and vice versa, will also be receiving an award at the same event.
