Imran, Ranbir to feature in KJo's next High school Musical style film

Karan Johar, presently busy shooting for My Name is Khan, has already locked on his next film as director. Sources reveal that Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan have agreed to be a part of Karan's project.

A source reveals, "Karan is fond of both Ranbir and Imran. In fact, he loved their act at an awards function this year. He realised that the two have great personal chemistry that could translate well on the big screen."

It is learnt that the film will be in the vein of Hollywood hit High School Musical. Both Imran and Ranbir play their age and it will be a yuppie romantic drama. "After Khan, Karan wants to direct something light. This will be the perfect opportunity."

Adds the source, "Also, Ranbir and Imran have been offered numerous projects opposite each other ('Zoya's double dhamaka'; HiTLIST, May 29) but both have turned most films down. However, when they heard the subject for Karan's musical, they immediately loved it."

Even though details are not available, the source adds that Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor are the two actresses being considered to play the roles opposite Ranbir and Imran.

'Luck' is full of spectacular stunts

Bollywood's celebrity action director Allan Amin, who is set to train passionate bikers to perform stunts on MTV's new adventure reality show, says he made actor Imran Khan jump off a plane onto a moving train in the forthcoming movie "Luck".

"In 'Luck', Imran would be seen jumping from an airplane onto a moving train. It was a brave scene and was shot in Bangkok," Amin told IANS over telephone from Mumbai.

Imran, who won many hearts with his debut "Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Ya", said it was an important scene, but refused to divulge any details about it.

"It is a major scene in the film and we will most probably use it for the promotion of the film. It will be a major part of the film's publicity campaign so I don't want to reveal much about the scene," said Imran.

The scene might bear resemblance to Anil Kapoor's famous jump in the 1993 movie "Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja" as well as Hrithik Roshan's anti-gravity stunt in "Dhoom 2" (2006).

Apart from this particular act in "Luck", the action director has also choreographed an underwater action scene set in South Africa with Imran and his leading lady Shruti Haasan - the two will be seen swimming with sharks.

Sanjay Dutt, who is also a part of the Soham Shah-directed project, will be seen in a spectacular stunt in which he is supposed to run towards fast moving trains - something we saw Aamir Khan doing in "Ghulam".

Amin has been in the film industry for the last 25 years and says more actors now prefer to do their own stunts instead of asking for a body double.

"A lot of actors today want to do their stunts for the excitement. Not only the younger lot, even experienced actors like Amitabh Bachchan likes to do stunts on their own. I made Amitabh do one in 'Aks' when he had to jump through a waterfall," said Amin, who has directed stunts in actioners like "Dhoom", "Dus", "Kaal" and "Main Hoon Na".

In 2005, he got the Filmfare Award for directing action sequences in "Mission Kashmir", which had Sanjay Dutt and Hrithik in lead roles.

Amin is now excited about being a judge on reality show "Pulsar MTV Stunt Mania", where he has to select, train and judge 10 passionate bikers to perform stunts like a basic wheelie, stoppie, flamingo, et al.

"The channel approached me for the show and after being in the industry for so long, I thought this would be something new for me and something very close to my heart - so I agreed. I will be more than happy to teach young kids how to do stunts properly without harming themselves in any way," he said.

"A lot of youngsters have a passion for bikes and related stunts, but they should first be brave and positive to be able to carry off a stunt well. And then it is my job to make the stunt spectacular and safe," he added.

On the show starting July 26, the rider with the least marks will get eliminated every week and the remaining will go on to compete for the 'Stunt God' title and a chance to feature in a commercial for Bajaj Pulsar.

Tamasha and Hungama at Karan's Birthday Bash

If the film industry were the United Nations, Karan Johar would be the Secretary-General. A self-confessed people person who loves nothing better than to bring warring factors together and to get everyone to kiss and make up, he has become, at the young age of 37, a sort of father figure to the entire acting fraternity. (Much like his father Yash Johar was, to the previous generation.)

Not surprising then that at his birthday party on Monday night (Tuesday morning actually, considering it wound up only at 4.30am), lots of drama happened. Given that one-half of the industry studiously avoids the second half because of real and perceived grievances while many sit in the lap of most, the party was not without its dramatic and memorable ones.Saif Ali Khan was dressed the most nattily in waistcoat and muffler. Hrithik Roshan came in casuals.

Among the directors who attended were Farhan Akhtar, Nikhil Advani, Rensil D'Silva and Kunal Kohli. Shah Rukh Khan was formally dressed, while youngsters Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan wore jackets.

Though Salman Khan didn't attend, his brothers did. Karisma Kapoor accompanied Saif and Kareena.

Aamir Khan sent a bouquet. Not surprisingly, the sushi was a big hit. After all, these are some of the fittest people in this country.

Aishwarya Rai married into the Bachchan-Kapoor feud that started when the Abhishek Bachchan-Karisma Kapoor engagement was called off, giving wing to many a nasty rumour fuelled by the fact that Abhishek and Kareena didn't work together again. But with Kareena wishing wistfully that Abhishek would find some room in his heart for her and Aishwarya wishing to let bygones be bygones, it was wonderful to see the two lovely ladies catch up at the party and then spend the night dancing away.

Abhishek, meanwhile, was whisked away to the corner by Karan, where Shah Rukh was seated, thus also ending the Bachchan-SRK cold war.

While all the bonhomie (above) was happening, Vidya Balan and Shahid Kapur were reconnecting. Though they came separately, they left together.

Some people went to great lengths(literally) to avoid former friends. When Vivek Oberoi arrived, Aishwarya moved to another corner.

On the other hand, when Shahid arrived, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena were cool.

Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif in '7 Days In Paris'

Sanjay Gadhvi is all set to start his new film. This one will be produced by Studio 18 and star Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif, who've been teamed for the very first time. It's a romantic/comedy and is aptly titled 7 DAYS IN PARIS, since Paris happens to be one of the most romantic cities in the world.

Sanjay plans to begin filming in June-end/July, "because I want to capture the summer in Europe," he reveals, "It's a uniquely structured script, but I can't reveal much at this stage." Sanjay plans to wrap almost 85% of the film in Paris, while the remaining portions will be filmed in London and Mumbai.

"The only film to be shot so extensively in Paris was AN EVENING IN PARIS. Of late, JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM, DON and LONDON DREAMS were filmed in Paris as well, but not extensively," Sanjay adds. Watch this space for further updates!

Imran Khan makes Kunal unhappy

Kunal Kohli hasn’t had lady luck on his side for a long time now. After a series of flop films, the director has had to break free from the Yash Raj clan to produce films on his own.

Adding to the trouble is a rumour that the director gave his latest scripts to the two new leading actors, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan, with the same script. While Kunal wanted to keep the issue under wraps, he commented that he trusted Ranbir not to let the cat out of the bag while he refused to comment about Imran.

The film fraternity isn’t too happy with this behaviour of Imran’s either.

Bollywood Stars who gave Voting Day a miss

Hema Malini Thursday (30th April) saw quite a few Bollywood bigwigs take out time from their busy schedule to cast their vote for the Elections. The ballot centres in Bandra, Juhu and Andheri areas of Mumbai saw stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, the Bachchan parivaar, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, John Abraham, Vidya Balan, Farhan Akhtar etc. troop in to cast their vote. However, there were quite a few B-town celebs, who in spite of being pretty active in asking people to vote decided to give the V-Day (Voting Day) a miss themselves. We brings you a list of a few Bollywood stars 'Jo Bolte Kuch Hai Aur Karte Kuch Hain'

Kareena Kapoor

Kareena was part of the special video created by Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani encouraging citizens to go and vote. However, when the V-day came, Bebo was nowhere in the picture. Apparently, Kareena is shooting for Karan Johar's production along with Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi in the US of A and hence couldn't make it. Well, that certainly doesn't count as an excuse cos if Aamir and Shah Rukh could fly down from US and South Africa respectively for casting their Vote, Kareena surely could have. This is one Tashan of Bebo which failed to impress us one bit.

Shahid Kapoor Shahid Kapoor

Kareena's once-upon-a- time 'good friend' Shahid Kapoor also didn't make it to cast his Vote and this despite him being in town. We really don't know the reason why but considering Shahid's 'good friend' Priyanka Chopra was also missing, we cant help but wonder if they were upto something Chup Chup Ke.

Priyanka Chopra Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra was full of emotions encouraging people to go and vote in the special video created by Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani. However, when the V-Day came, the actress was conspicuous by her absence. PC…we all are keen to know more on What's your Reason rather than What's Your Raashee?

Salman Khan Salman Khan

Sallu was here, there and everywhere during the pre-election campaigning; hence it was indeed extremely surprising that the actor after encouraging people to go and Vote decided to give V-day a miss himself. The actor apparently was busy shooting in London for his film Veer at a time when he was most 'Wanted' in Mumbai to cast his vote.

Imran Khan Imran Khan

It was Imran Khan who came up with the idea of making a special video asking people to vote. Imran along with Karan Johar and Tarun Mansukhani gathered some of B-town's biggest stars for this initiative but when it was his time to Vote, Imran himself couldn't get his finger inked. The Reason: Imran was not eligible as he is an American citizen. Poor Imran indeed couldn't practice what he preached so hard.

Preity Zinta & Shilpa Shetty

Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta Bollywood beauties Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty also didn't make it to cast their vote. They were busy cheering their respective teams 'Kings XI Punjab' and 'Rajasthan Royals' at the on-going IPL matches in South Africa. Looks like they didn't realize that the opportunity to vote comes only once in 5 years unlike the IPL which is an annual event

Asin, Deepika Padukone Deepika Padukone and Asin

The South Indian babes Deepika Padukone and Asin couldn't vote in Mumbai as Deepika is originally from Bangalore while Asin is from Kerala. Hope these two beauties at least have voted in their respective home town.

Akshay Kumar Akshay Kumar

Akki was among the other B-town celebs who gave Voting a miss. The star was busy shooting for Priyadarshan's film De Dhana Dhan in Singapore. Akki when you can travel from Chandni Chowk to China in 3 hours you surely could have come down from Singapore to Mumbai and exercised your right to vote as a responsible citizen.

Kajol, Ajay Devgan Ajay Devgan and Kajol

Probably the biggest shocker comes in the form of Ajay Devgan and Kajol who were busy holidaying in Goa and didn't find it necessary to come down and cast their vote. Ajay what's the point in doing a film on Rajniti when you can't even come and vote for the leaders in whose hands lies the future of our country?

Jaane Tu… serves legal notice

This time it was T-series chance to show who’s the boss!

Their music for Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na was a sure hit and Pappu can’t dance will still set your feet tapping.

Cashing in on the catchy tune was an innocent Span communications, a Delhi based advertising agency. The agency came up with Pappu can’t vote, sanctioned by the Election Commission, urging people of all walks of life to vote.

The advertisement retained the tune and the rhythm which becomes an infringement of the T-series copyright.

However, Span Communications denies being served a notice.

We should just sit back and watch but go to vote in any case!
